Thanks a lot vmware.. Making your products work with any kind of recent kernel seems to be none of your business.. updated vmware server to 2.0 and things seems to work..

Added another copy of the http virtual machine, and using load balancing, so either can be rebooted without interrupting work. Don't hesitate to contact me if anything doesn't work.

HTTP

Served by apache with mod-php5, mod-perl and mod-ssl.
You homepage will be at http://www.smokepit.net/~username/, and it will reside in a directory in your homedir named "public_html".
This directory and its contents must be readable by the webserver;
to set permissions ether make files/dirs owned by the group "www-data", or use chmod.
Files: chmod o=r filename
Directories: chmod o=rx dir

FTP

Served by virtual machine "http" and vsftpd.

IRCD

Client server served by "Trym", hub by "Loke".
Using dancer-ircd and dancer-services.

WEBMAIL

Webmail is handeled by RoundCube available here
Horde/Imp is still available, but unmaintained here.

APT

An apt-repository is here (mostly for my own pleasure and experimenting:) Backports for both etch and lenny are here. Etch's are not to be trusted, and lenny's are probably replaced by automatic moving from unstable in the official archive anyway. It is just for AMD64.
